Our client, Fintastic Diving, CT’s leading scuba dive shop offering certified courses, gear services, and diving trips, offers a unique business model for combining expert dive education, high-quality gear services, and personalized dive experiences to build a loyal community of divers and enthusiasts.

The Challenge

While working to improve its online presence to better serve its customers and attract new divers, our team faced three key challenges in redesigning Fintastic Diving’s  website:

  1. Streamlining Access to E-Learning for Dive Courses: Directing users to the appropriate third-party e-learning portals while maintaining a seamless connection to Fintastic Diving’s offerings was crucial to achieving a user-friendly experience that ties back to the brand.
  2. Displaying Course Schedules: Because divers needed to easily identify upcoming sessions for their desired courses, schedules for training programs needed clear and prominent visual elements. This required integrating a dynamic scheduling system that filtered and displayed course-specific calendars on individual training pages.
  3. Promoting Dive Trips: Fintastic Diving’s trips to world-class resorts are a major attraction, but their existing site lacked a clear and engaging way to promote these adventures. Highlighting the details and simplifying the registration process for these trips was critical to driving participation.

The Solution

To address these challenges, our team developed and executed several strategic solutions, ensuring the website met both functional and aesthetic goals:

  1. E-Learning Integration: We created individual pages for each training course with detailed descriptions, prerequisites, and outcomes with a clear call-to-action directing users to the appropriate third-party portal. By embedding these links directly into the course descriptions, we ensured users could seamlessly access the e-learning component while maintaining their connection to Fintastic Diving.
  2. Dynamic Course Scheduling: To make course schedules easily accessible, we integrated a dynamic calendar system on the website. Each training page featured a custom-coded calendar that displayed only the schedule for that specific course. This solution allowed potential divers to view availability and plan their training without navigating away from the course details.
  3. Dedicated Trip Pages: We designed a visually engaging and informative section of the site dedicated to Fintastic Diving’s upcoming trips. Each trip page featured all relevant details and also included a trip-specific signup form, simplifying the registration process and improving the user experience.
